In July 2007, a coalition of civil society and global health organizations launched the Global Call to Stop Cervical Cancer. The Global Call is a new movement to mobilize action to put an end to cervical cancer – a disease that kills 250,000 women each year. Cervical cancer is preventable – but most women in developing countries do not have access to new life-saving technologies. We seek to ensure that new vaccines, diagnostics and treatments for cervical cancer rapidly reach women and girls around the world.
